HABITATION MODULES
Our habitation units are constructed using 60mm insulated composite sandwich panels combined with a precision fabricated aluminium skeleton frame.
The result is a rigid, lightweight and highly insulated structure that offers an excellent strength to weight ratio, designed to exceed the demands of expedition travel where constant vibration, uneven terrain and extreme environments place considerably greater stresses on the structure.
Every habitation unit is manufactured to each specific vehicle allowing the construction to be tailored to the chassis, intended use and specifications of the vehicle and the customer.
PANEL CONSTRUCTION
The GRP panels are engineered as a structural, high performance construction system, combining a 56mm RTM foam core with 2mm of heavy duty GRP skins to create a rigid, lightweight and exceptionally durable panel with excellent thermal insulation with a high R value. This helps to maintain a stable and comfortable internal temperature in both hot and cold environments.
Internally, the panels feature a high gloss white GRP finish, providing a clean, durable and easy to maintain surface straight from manufacture.
Skeleton Frame
At the core of every Alpine habitation unit is a fully welded aluminium skeleton frame. Engineered to provide a rigid, structural foundation for the entire habitation module.
The frame is manufactured with a 6mm thick high grade aluminium, selected for its excellent strength to weight ratio, corrosion resistance and long term durability. Every joint is fully welded both internally and externally, creating a continuous, rigid structure designed to withstand the demands of off road travel and expedition use.
Additional aluminium cappings are bonded to the external corners of the frame, providing a further level of reinforcement while protecting the areas most susceptible to impact, abrasion and general wear.
